2010-11-05 Who's With Me?

[To the stunned and shocked XWA Superstars in the room, Tempest has just shown his colors that he has been the man behind the mask, wearing it to disguise himself and compete not only as himself, but as Steel Eagle in the XWA. However, the room becomes more shocked when coming from one of the dark corners of the room, steps a man that no one expected to be here today as he slowly claps his hands, in admiration of Tempest’s big reveal! He continues to clap his hands slowly and deliberately pausing in between each clap.]

****CLAP****CLAP****CLAP****CLAP****

[Everyone in the room turns in the direction of the man slowly clapping, and you can hear a collective gasp of air as walking towards the front of the room is Mongrel McMahon. Tempest becomes completely agitated and screams at him.]

Tempest: What the hell are you doing here…. You were fired and banned from the XWA for life!!!!!

[Mongrel stops walking as he reaches about the midpoint of the room, and Tempest starts to go stand up to go towards him, but is stopped by Angelus who puts a hand on Tempest’s shoulder, in an attempt to keep peace in this room. Tempest looks up at Angelus who is standing behind him, and remains seated for the moment as Mongrel smiles and begins to speak.]

Mongrel: Well, Well, Well… Fired you say?.... Banned from the XWA you say?....

[Mongrel pauses and chuckles as he continues.]

Mongrel: Do I look like I was?.....

[Mongrel smirks at Tempest as he waits for a reply, but before Tempest can speak Angelus does the talking for him.]

Angelus: MadDog lost the match, the stipulation stated that he and the rest of you are to be gone from the XWA once and for all!

Mongrel: You know what…. Your right… Those were the stipulations…. However…. After the match I had a little chat with our beloved commissioner, Mr Richard J. Maxwell, and spoke with him about the finish to that match… The finish that never happened…. MadDog never quit… He never submitted…. He passed out from the pain…

Angelus: I called that match right down the middle…. I stopped the match only because MadDog was unable to continue…. He passed out from the pain of the match, and for his safety alone I felt he was in no condition to wrestle any longer, and awarded the match and victory to Tempest….

Mongrel: Yes…. He was beaten up…. And beaten up bad…. And yes, I will give credit where credit is due….. You did call the match fair and square… But again MadDog never quit….. And with that main point I just mentioned in mind, I have to ask you this Angelus, If you did allow that match to continue could it be that maybe MadDog might have caught his 2nd or 3rd or even his 64th wind and who knows…. Maybe just maybe Tempest here might have submitted at that point later in the action?

[Tempest is extremely pissed off from that last remark, and jumps to his feet and is about to jump on Mongrel and let all hell break loose, but Mongrel holds up his hand towards Tempest to indicate he does not want to fight him, but instead wants to explain and he continues.]

Mongrel: Hold it right there Mr. Storm of the Century…. No use unleashing that famous temper of yours against me…. Save it for the guys in Legion…. Save it for the guys in Rated X….. And give me a few moments of your time to explain myself…..Besides…. I did say maybe…. Now, Just relax yourself and let me finish, maybe you and the rest of you will want to hear what I have to say….

[Mongrel pauses, and looks at Tempest who slowly starts to sit back down, and Rose attempts to regain control of the meeting and speaks up.]

Rose: OK, get on with it…. Why are you here?

[Mongrel smiles and nods at Rose, as he continues to speak. Tempest continues to glare away at him.]

Mongrel: Well, before I was interrupted I was about to say I went to see our XWA Commissioner with all that in mind and I just felt that I had to speak with him about it and pleaded my case to be allowed to return to the XWA because of it… And, after listening to me, he agreed with me on three conditions… And those are the following…… Number one, I and only I am allowed to return to the XWA alone, which you can plainly see that I have agreed to do…. I will have you all know that under no circumstances will MadDog…. John McMahon…. And my brother, Mutt ever be allowed to return to the XWA, and they are all finished…. They have all been fired, and have all been banned from any and all XWA events…. Which is fine by me….. See, now I get a chance to stand alone and prove myself to everyone and be out and away from their collective shadow…..

[Tempest and Angelus seem a bit calmer by that remark, and allow Mongrel to continue.]

Mongrel: Number two….. I no longer work for or with Legion…. Which is something I never wanted to do anyway….. That was MadDog’s idea at the time…. Not mine…. So that was easy, and that is why I stand before you in this room today…. I am XWA…. I was born into this business…. And I was born into this company….I just want to make one thing clear with all of you here and now, MadDog is my father, and I am my father’s son, but I am not my father….. I’m better than he ever was…. And I will be better than he ever will be….…… And in time I will prove it to all of you….. But first, let me tell you something about MadDog….. We might not want to admit it, but let’s all face the facts here about this once and for all.... it was guys like MadDog who built this company….MadDog himself put a ton of his sweat…. His blood…. And his tears here in the XWA…. No matter if you liked him or hated him, you had to respect him for what he did…. He blazed a trail here in the original XWA…. However he didn’t do it alone…. Others did it with him….. It was guys like you Tempest….. Guys like Satine X over there….. And guys like The Dark Vampire….. Angelus….And, even though we do not want to admit it…. A guy like DGX…… They all played important parts in this company in the past….. However, the trail that he blazed…..That trail all you XWA Originals blazed…… Well, that trail is being destroyed….. It was being destroyed by MadDog and others like him…… Guys in Rated X….. Guys in Legion…. They want to ruin everything that all you original XWA members created…. MadDog saw the errors of his ways… Yet he saw them too late….. That is maybe the biggest reason that he did not want to continue as the General Manager when it was offered to him…. He stepped aside so there would be a XWA for the next generation…. It’s funny….. MadDog used to call himself, “The Great One”…… Well, I am not that yet….. But….. I am……“The Next One”….. I am a younger…. Quicker….. And much stronger version of MadDog…. I am Mongrel….. And I am “The Next One”….. I plan on doing everything my father did in this company… yet do it better….. And do it the right way…… So, with all that in mind it was easy to agree to Mr. Maxwell’s second request…..And with that, it only leaves the third and final condition of Mr Maxwell for my return…..

[Mongrel pauses and chuckles over this last one.]

Mongrel: Number three….. Well, Last week at Hardcore Halloween we all saw that Rated X now claims that they are now the XWA Tag Team Champions because they have the old belts handed to them….. Now, that is not an OFFICAL XWA Championship since those belts have been retired and not yet brought officially back… But it was something that Mr. Maxwell wanted to do in the future… And, he is upset that they did this and are walking around claiming to be the champions here in the XWA.... A company that they want to destroy…..Well, Mr Maxwell loves his ratings…. And he loves his controversy…. So he wants me to help him in doing something about it…. He wants me to pick a partner from someone in this room tonight, and have them agree to team with me to take on those two assclowns, to challenge them to a match, and in the process take those titles away from them and turn them in to the commissioner , and bring those belts back home back here to the XWA….. So with that in mind…….

[Mongrel pauses and grins and chuckles again before he continues.]

Mongrel: I think I found me the perfect guy to team with…… And that guy is you…

[Mongrel points his hand at …..]

Mongrel: You… Yes, you….. Tempest…. You’re the guy….. It’s time to man up here…. So, what do you say?.....I heard you say here tonight that you are here and your loyal and all that jazz, and say you can't hide behind any mask or makeup anymore while the company that you bled for is under attack by those assholes…. Did you mean what you just said?....... Can you back that up by standing with me?..... One time only?....... I will admit here and now that you were not my first choice considering the past you had with my father….. But…. After what you just said….. And what I saw when you took off that mask…..You made me realize that you are the one…… So, I just have to ask you this…..Can I trust you?….. Can you put aside your feelings for the son of maybe your worst enemy ever here in the XWA….. And team with him….. For the better good of the XWA….. And we stand together to face Rated X?

[TAG TO TEMPEST before anyone else responds!]

Angelus: Whoa, whoa, whoa... It's going going to be that easy my friend. You are definitely a chip off the old block when it comes to rambling on... and on... and on. Before you go teaming up with anyone here, we need to see that you are on our side... forgive me if I don't exactly take you at your word, you don't really have the best references.

-=Angelus looks over to Rose=-

Angelus: You want to give him a shot?

-=Rose shrugs nonchalantly=-

Angelus: If you really want to step out of your old man's shadow, then it's up to you. Prove you're not a scheming back stabber like him and I'm sure you could be useful to us... If you cross us, you are going to have some very pissed superstars after you. That man there...

-=Angelus gestures to Rose with his head=-

Angelus: ... near crippled his best friend to win a title, imagine what he'd do to you. That man there...

-=Angelus gestures to Tempest=-

Angelus: ... has been quite unwell for a while... Ask Sabbeth what he's capable me.... and then there's me.

-=Angelus glares at the youngester, who to his credit stands his ground bravely=-

Angelus: You remember what I did to you and your brother? Do NOT fuck with us. Rose, T, we agreed?

-=The pair nod in agreement as Angelus turns away briskly=-

Mongrel: All I'm asking for is a chance to make an impact... A chance to show you guys what I can do.

-=Tempest steps forward=-

Tempest: Show us what you've got kid... show us all, now unless anyone has anything else to say, I thi....

-=Rose pushes slightly in front of Tempest=-

Rose: I believe you said you'd play by our rules... so if you don't mind I'll close things off?

-=TAG=-

[Alex]

-=Rose looks around once again at the gathered masses, his eyes resting on Mongrel in the end.=-

Rose: You talk a big game, boy. But I know your old man. I used to consider him a friend. If you remember, he was a big part of me getting where I am today. But what'd he do in the end? He stabbed me in the back, he stabbed us all in the back, and he took himself and his family off to Legion and tried to ruin us all. So you're going to have to forgive me if I don't think your word is good enough.

-=Mongrel looks marginally miffed, but his eyes stay focussed on Rose, understanding, maybe even having a degree of sympathy for the situation.=-

Rose: But Angelus is right. Maybe you're not quite the chip off the old block we had you pegged as. So you'll get your chance. You won't be matched with Tempest, like you so obviously are dying to do. No, it doesn't work like that. But your chance is coming. Be patient.

-=Rose addresses the room at large.=-

Rose: That goes for all of you. Patience is the key here. I know you've all seen Legion running around with branding irons and kidnapping people. We all know Rated X, and they're playing a smart game right now, but we know what they're capable of. By no means are we guaranteed a result here, not by a long shot. But if we take our time, if we're smart, and if we're working together, then we have a chance. A good chance, I think.

At the end of all this, you guys don't answer to Richard Maxwell. You don't answer to me, you don't answer to the XWA. You answer to your families. Your wives, your children, your parents. This company is granting you a living, a chance to make good money and support your family. This company wanted you when you were Joe Nobody, making a buck a night in some high school against Joe Nobody II. You are living your dreams here, whether you're Chris Novak or Tempest. You all came here for a dream. You stayed for your own reasons. If you want to stay a little longer, put a little more in the bank, give your kids another year of college, then you'll fight.

We are men, standing up against people who would see you on the street. We are wrestlers, standing up for wrestlers. They are many. We are one. I'm fighting. Who's with me?

-=And a roar from those who stayed to listen, to agree, and to stand up signifies that this is a room that is going to war. For the sake of the XWA, and the sake of wrestling, let's hope they win.=-
