In his past, EBR's exhibited signs of showing off, be it in high flying or utilizing “innovative” moves used commonly by independent wrestlers. Over the past few years, adapting to past injuries and changing styles EBR has simplified his offense to basic ground and pound, with the occasional big move. EBR is a rational wrestler who will beat up his opponent enough to use his next trademark move with enough discipline to follow this strategy to the finish. This makes EBR especially dangerous as once he gains momentum it becomes increasingly hard to stop it. Despite his level of experience and success, EBR is nowhere near as composed or in control of his emotions as one would expect. If he feels he’s being wronged in a match, in whatever way, he will reciprocate be it with harder strikes to questionable tactics to flat out illegal actions. While this will at times work to his advantage, it’s also his biggest weakness as it’s much easier for opponents to get inside EBR’s head and take him off his game. It’s only once Guru unleashes the flutes on ‘em does EBR finally emerge from the back, the crowd making their opinions on that fact known, whatever those opinions happen to be. Clad with his black hoodie EBR descends down the ramp, his eyes fixated on the ring as he gets himself into the proverbial “zone”. Once he reaches the aforementioned ring he stops momentarily, flashing a quick glance and subtle smirk at some front row fans, some of who express support and attempt to give dap while others heckle with derogatory comments about his “possible” weight gain. Paying no specific mind either way EBR casually raises himself to the ring apron with assistance of the steps, entering the ring through the second and third ropes. He approaches and resides into his respective corner, removing his sweatshirt and handing it to the referee before engaging in some light stretching and shadow boxing, simply waiting for the task at hand to begin.
Style. In his past, EBR's exhibited signs of showing off, be it in high flying or utilizing “innovative” moves used commonly by independent wrestlers. Over the past few years, adapting to past injuries and fluctuation of mass, he has simplified his offense to basic ground and pound with the occasional big move. EBR is a rational wrestler who will attempt to beat up his opponent enough to use his next trademark move with enough discipline to follow this strategy to the finish. This makes EBR especially dangerous as once he gains momentum it becomes increasingly hard to stop it. That said, despite his level of experience and success, EBR is nowhere near as composed or in control of his emotions as one would expect. If he feels he’s being wronged in a match, in whatever way, he will reciprocate be it with harder strikes, to questionable tactics, to actions which are illegal in XWA ring. While this will at times work to his advantage, it’s also his biggest weakness as it’s much easier for opponents to get inside EBR’s head and take him off his game. He is flappable. While he may typically only be physical with fellow XWA competitors in the confines of a match, and always within the pre and post-match bells, with age an increasing stigma has surrounded EBR regarding how dirty of a wrestler he may be. While he may downplay these allegations as simply allegations, it is widely agreed upon that he is a cheap shot artist. EBRNicknames.Megatron Captain Clutch His name has deciphered by ancient Japanese monks to mean “Shao Kahn” Status. Entrance Music. “The Spiteful Chant” – Kendrick Lamar ft. ScHoolboy Q I know a lot of people that smile in my face But talk behind my back every time I’m gone So when they call my number I don’t never pick up I don’t owe you shit, bitch Leave me aloneOn cue with the drums subtly kicking in EBR appears from the back, clad in a black hoodie obscuring his face as the crowd’s dissatisfaction is further amplified. I’m going big Suck my dick I’m going big Suck my dick I’m going big Suck my dick I’m going big Suck my dickA faint white strobe light pretentiously shines down on the darkened arena and follows EBR as he slowly descends down towards the ringside area. Once he reaches the ring he instead opts to go around it, walking past the front row fans who greet him with a barrage of boos, taunts, and insults. Unfazed, the covered and still unseen face of EBR simply turns towards those same fans, many of whom promptly quiet down in return. He continues trekking on until he reaches the announce table, producing a bottle of powder from the front pocket of his hoodie. Lightly shaking it onto his right hand he dramatically pauses before tossing the powder over his head with both hands, his hood thrown back from his head in the process and registering the loudest boos thus far. He continues to walk around the ring and once he completes his circular detour begins to finally ascend the steel steps, stopping on the third rung before looking down at the nearby camera, mouthing the words to “The Spiteful Chant”. I’m going big Suck my dick I’m going big Suck my dickStepping between the ropes EBR makes way to his respective corner. After engaging in a combination of light stretches, shadow boxing, jogging on the spot, and other simple activities to serve as a warm up he removes his sweat shirt and hands it to the official, awaiting the task at hand as the lighting resumes per normal and his music gradually fades out.
Style. With a style that has changed profusely throughout his wrestling career EBR’s last in ring work, to borrow a phrase from Jack Tatum, “border[ed] on felonious assault”. In broader terms EBR’s in ring performance hasn’t been about executing the most visually impressive or innovative moves in quite some time, opting instead for a much simpler but arguably more effective ground and pound strategy. Leaving a lot to be desired aesthetically EBR is the true embodiment of an “ugly” wrestler, his moves often appearing sloppy and poorly performed almost as if to maximize their potential damage. While Greg Williams may have spread the “kill the head” mantra into mainstream sports, it’s a strategy EBR has utilized for years – literally, as he often targets his strikes at the opponent’s head while simultaneously looking to drop them on it. While his physically imposing style was perfected in and resides in WFWF lore, EBR is not without his weaknesses. Pundits and fellow opponents have noted that EBR’s strategy has never changed from match-to-match, some arguing “why change what’s effective?” and other’s attributing this to the belief of EBR’s lack of preparation and even laziness. Despite his years of experience and levels of accomplishment EBR can be outsmarted in the ring, which is understandably the agreed upon best way to prevent EBR from simply imposing his will. Perhaps just as surprisingly for a man as accomplished in the XWA as EBR and with a self-appointed nickname of “Captain Clutch” he is nowhere near as in control of his emotions as one would expect. He is prone to allowing those emotions to get the best of him, and while this at times work to his advantage it’s also one of his biggest weaknesses as it allows opponents to get inside his head and take him off his game. He is flappable, but in fairness has proven that he has the ability to respond to adversity, even if that adversity is at his own hand. As the years have passed an increasing stigmas has surrounded EBR regarding how dirty of a wrestler he may be. While he downplays these allegations as simply allegations, it is widely agreed upon that he is in fact a cheap shot artist, if not legitimately trying to injure his opponents. “You play to win the game”, as the old saying goes.
